
What is an "Executive Physical"?
A comprehensive physical examination, usually completed in just one day. A comprehensive review of your medical history, physical examination, extensive laboratory testing, an EKG, and spirometry lung function testing if necessary. Several radiology tests also are available, if desired.
Do I have to be an executive to have an Executive Physical?
No! The “Executive Physical” was originally designed for busy executives. But now “Executive Physical” has become a generic term for "first-class medical treatment." Today, the Executive Physical is for everyone!
What should I expect on the day of my Executive Physical?
At 8:00 am, you will be picked up from your home (or hotel) and driven to Advanced Radiology Imaging Associates in Fort Myers. There, you will meet with Dr. Andy or Jeanne (Dr. Andy's practice administrator). Blood samples will be taken at this time, and gynecological and breast exams can be performed if desired. Testing starts at 9:00am, and concludes around noon. When you get back to your home or hotel room, a gourmet deli lunch will be waiting, along with a licensed massage therapist to help relax you. At 2:00pm, Dr. Andy will arrive to give you a physical examination and review the results of your tests. The process will be completed by 5:00 pm.
What types of physicals available?
The Executive Physical – includes a comprehensive review of your medical history, physical examination, extensive laboratory testing, and lifestyle counseling focused on preventive medicine. The goal of an Executive Physical is to screen for treatable conditions and cancers, as well as prevent those conditions if possible. The basic Executive Physical package includes comprehensive laboratory testing, an EKG, and spirometry lung function testing if indicated. The Presidential Executive Physical -- modeled after the exam the President of the U.S. takes every year. Includes everything in the Executive Physical package, plus echocardiogram, carotid duplex ultrasound, and an ultrasound with ankle-brachial-index testing. A cardiac calcium-scoring CT test is also included to further screen for heart attack risk factors. Click here for detailed information on each test.
The Senior Executive Physical -- designed for patients over 50. Includes everything in the Presidential Executive Package, plus additional screening tests for osteoporosis (DEXA bone density imaging), lung cancer (lung CT scanning), and early brain changes related to dementia (MRI of the brain). When will the results of my tests be ready?
Almost all of your test results will be available within hours. In rare cases, results may take a few days. Copies of all tests will be sent directly to you (and your doctor) the moment they are available.
Can women get gynecological exams and PAP smears as part of the Executive Physical?
Yes. If you elect to have Dr. Andy do this examination, it will be done first thing in the morning in a comfortable examination room after a blood sample is taken. A female assistant will be present as well.
How long does the Executive Physical take?
In most cases, just single day.
How much does the Executive Physical cost?
From $1800 to $4500, depending on the specifics of your examination. A 20% refundable deposit is requested at time of scheduling, with the balance due on the day of your examination. Click here for Packages and Prices.
Will my insurance pay for my Executive Physical?
Check with your insurance provider. If we can assist with filling out any forms, we are happy to do so, however we cannot file or follow up on insurance claims. Please ask Dr. Andy about this specifically if you have any questions.
Can Dr. Andy become my personal physician as well?
